Athletic Field Status Update
7/31/26 Swinson Park soccer field is closed. All other Carteret County Parks & Recreation fields & facilities are open.

Youth Beach Volleyball
Carteret County Parks and Recreation Department and Morehead City Parks and Recreation Department are partnering up to offer youth beach volleyball. All practices and games will be held at the Atlantic Beach Circle Volleyball Courts.
Practices are projected to begin the week of 9/7/2026.

NFL FLAG Football is back-and Bigger Than Ever!
Get ready to hit the field! Registration for Carteret County Parks & Recreation NFL FLAG football opens 6/26/2026 at 8:00 AM, and spots are expected to fill fast! Choose from three exciting divisions: Shula (ages 7-9), Madden (ages 10-12), and the all-new Lombardi Division (ages 13-15).
Games and practices will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 5:30 PM in both Beaufort and Newport Locations. Some games only will be held in Morehead City at Rotary Park as well.
The registration fee is $85 per player.

Fun Friday Field Trip 3
This is the outline for the day providing some great experiences in Onslow and Carteret County today!
Meet us at Fort Benjamin on August 14th for a Field Trip to Sturgeon City Environmental Education Center in Jacksonville for some fun programs.
Lunch will be at Cici’s Pizza.
Next we will travel to Hammocks Beach State Park and tour the Visitor Center before returning to Fort Benjamin to return home.We will leave at 9am with return by 4pm.
Cost is $25 per person.

Adventure Awaits... Down East Adventure Camp is a partial day camp focused on exploring Carteret County and beyond. Each week will feature field trips around the county, sports, nature education, STEM activities and most importantly FUN! Space is limited. Register today!

Yoga for All
Yoga is for everybody and every body! This is yoga for all levels, from beginners to seasoned practitioners, open to all adults. Continuous classes are held on Thursday mornings from 9:00am to 10:00am, in the exercise room at Fort Benjamin Recreation Center.
