Athletic Field Status Update
11/5/26 - Freedom Park fields 1 & 2 are closed for maintenance. All other Carteret County Parks & Recreation fields and facilities are open.

Youth Basketball: Girls & Boys Ages 5-14
Carteret County Parks & Recreation Youth Basketball is a recreational program for boys and girls ages 5-14. Players will learn basketball fundamentals, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a fun and positive environment.
Programs are offered in the following areas:
-Beaufort
-Newport
-Broad Creek/White Oak
Please register by your child's age and preferred location.
Age cut-off date is January 1st, 2027.
Registration opens: September 23, 2026
Registration closes: November 2, 2026
Registration Fee: $70
Late Registration Fee (after 11/2/2026): $85

The Adventure Club/Mikes Farm Trip
The Adventure Club will be heading to Duplin County in December!
Hop on the bus with us Friday December 18th to head to Mike’s Farm in Beulaville, NC.
This trip offers an evening experience with a beautiful Christmas light hayride through the farm. We will leave Fort Benjamin at 4PM and stop at Golden Corral in Jacksonville for an early dinner.
From dinner we will travel to the farm for an enchanting hayride with lots of Christmas spirit.
As we wait for hayride tickets please take the time to visit the gift shops and bakery located on the property.
Cost is $20 per person which includes hayride tickets. There will be 2 busses to allow parents or mentors to attend as well. The busses will leave Fort Benjamin at 4pm with a projected return time of 9pm. Our young adults will register for bus 1 and parents will register for bus 2. We have 13 spots on each bus.
Please arrive by 3:45.

The Adventure Club-MacDaddy's Bowling/Local Adventures
The Adventure Club is off again!For our November trip we will do a drum circle program, followed by a trip to MacDaddy's for some bowling and lunch. To finish out the day we will visit the new NC Coastal Federation building with a tour, a program with Ms. Rachel and weather permitting a sit around the outdoor firepit and some s'mores!
Meet us at Fort Benjamin on November 20th by 8:45am. Bus leaves promptly at 9am.
We will travel back to Fort Benjamin with some possible stops on the way back home time allowing.
We will return by 4pm.
Cost is $20 per person for travel and bowling fees.

Yoga for All
Yoga is for everybody and every body! This is yoga for all levels, from beginners to seasoned practitioners, open to all adults. Continuous classes are held on Thursday mornings from 9:00am to 10:00am, in the exercise room at Fort Benjamin Recreation Center.
