Athletic Field Status Update
1/28/26 - Fort Benjamin baseball & softball fields are closed. Eastern & Swinson Park are closed. Western Park baseball & softball fields still closed for renovations. Fort Benjamin U10 & Swinson Park soccer fields also still closed for maintenance. All other Carteret County Parks & Recreation fields & facilities are open.

Game Day Opportunity!
Carteret County Parks & Recreation is excited to partner with Duke Athletics to give our community a chance to experience the energy of Duke Women’s Basketball!
The Duke Women’s basketball team will host Southern Methodist women’s team on Sunday, February 8th at 2:00 PM. Anyone is welcome.
Tickets are $12 per person and can be purchased using the link on our website.
This particular game is also the PINK GAME. Wear pink and join us in supporting Breast Cancer Awareness.
Bring the family, make memories, and cheer on the Blue Devils!
This event is open to the public.
We ask that families make their own transportation arrangements for this event.

Kids Program Dates! Join the fun!
No school! What do we do? We got you covered!
Join us at Fort Benjamin Park February 16th and March 16th to help occupy your child's on those non school days!
Fun and interactive events at our building in the morning, field trips in the afternoon and an all around day of fun at the park!
Choose one or both days and get in on the fun!
Registration is $40 per child.
Please bring a lunch, we will have snacks in the afternoon.

Parent Night off/Kids Movie Night
Parents!
Looking for a night out? Drop off your child at Fort Benjamin for a fun movie night with us!
February 27 from 5:30-8pm.
Pajamas, pillows and blankets are welcome, snacks are provided and a good time will be had by all!
Cost is $10 per child, ages 6-11.

Daddy Daughter Dance registration is now open!
Join us for our annual Daddy Daughter Dance
This years event is a Sweetheart theme
Saturday February 14
6-8 pm
Cost $40 per father/1 daughter couple, $5 each additional daughter
This event will be held at the
Crystal Coast Civic Center

Enjoy an evening of fun with your dad, or other father figure in your life, and take a spin around the dance floor. This promises to be a great evening for fathers and daughters of all ages with a sweetheart theme.
Submit your song request with registration, limit of 2.
DJ will be available to keep you on the dance floor.
Refreshments are provided.
There will be a photo opportunity available at the cost of $5 per setting.
Pre-registration is required.
Any refunds must be requested by February 6th.

Knights of Columbus Yard Sale Trip
Join us as we travel to New Bern for the gigantic Yard Sale Event, hosted by the Knights of Columbus. This is a multi building sale with loads of areas to search for that special yard sale bargain!
Transportation is $10 per person
We will plan a stop for lunch once we all come together for pickup.
We will meet at Fort Benjamin Park at 9am to start the day, head to New Bern for the yard sale event, lunch and then possibly visit the Goodwill before making our way back to Fort Benjamin.
Return time is approximately 3pm.

Yoga for All
Yoga is for everybody and every body! This is yoga for all levels, from beginners to seasoned practitioners, open to all adults. Continuous classes are held on Thursday mornings from 9:00am to 10:00am, in the exercise room at Fort Benjamin Recreation Center.
