Athletic Field Status Update
9/25/26 - Freedom Park fields 1 & 2 are closed for maintenance. All other Carteret County Parks & Recreation fields and facilities are open.

Youth Basketball: Girls & Boys Ages 5-14
Carteret County Parks & Recreation Youth Basketball is a recreational program for boys and girls ages 5-14. Players will learn basketball fundamentals, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a fun and positive environment.
Programs are offered in the following areas:
-Beaufort
-Newport
-Broad Creek/White Oak
Please register by your child's age and preferred location.
Age cut-off date is January 1st, 2027.
Registration opens: September 23, 2026
Registration closes: November 2, 2026
Registration Fee: $70
Late Registration Fee (after 11/2/2026): $85

Boots and Bling/ Mommy and Me Dance
Enjoy an evening of activities, dancing and much much more offering a pre Mothers Day celebration for moms, aunts, and other mother figures and children of all ages.
DJ, line dancing, games, smores, light refreshments and more with a little competition as well.
Competition categories, Best Dressed in;
Most Bling, Best Boots and Overall Western Royalty
Saturday October 3rd
6-8 pm at Fort Benjamin Recreation Center, 100 McQueen Avenue, Newport
Registration is available at ccpr.recdesk.com and is $30 per couple with a $5 fee for each additional child.

Yoga for All
Yoga is for everybody and every body! This is yoga for all levels, from beginners to seasoned practitioners, open to all adults. Continuous classes are held on Thursday mornings from 9:00am to 10:00am, in the exercise room at Fort Benjamin Recreation Center.
